Thank you to our volunteer Richard for this report on the November work morning:

Nick and I replaced two Tree Trail posts that had rotted and re-erected two Heritage Circuit posts that were loose.

Helen cleared leaves from paths and weeded the shrub bed alongside the main entrance.

Nick made innovative use of a sweeping brush, with photographic evidence!

We decided on some potential ‘projects’ for future work mornings.

There are some progress photos from the chapels, too. Most of the ‘ground floor’ masonry has been checked, areas of cement-based render removed, and joints repointed with lime mortar (similar work on the bell tower starts shortly). Plaster has been stripped from the inside of the chapels. Stone tracery for the windows is being renewed (see photo of two hand-carved elements). Insulation has been completed on the underside of the roofs. Recycled slates have been delivered for covering both roofs.

Thank you to our volunteers for their hard work! We will be sharing plans for our 2023 work mornings shortly. We would love to welcome some new volunteers in the new year! If you’d like to get involved drop us a message or email us on info@fohpc.org.uk
